Its distinctive scalloped walnut veneered top with generously proportioned reeded colums and brassed column capitals make this the desired choice of many a fine furniture collector.

The Birkdale Vienna Regulator Astrolabium
Our Price: 2,475.00
Our Price: 2,495.00

This superb solid mahogany regulator is a fine example of Wm Forbes clock making skills. A near copy of a similar piece made circa 1850, regulators like the Birkdale were so accurate they were used to check the accuracy of other less precise clocks. With its 8 day weight driven westminster chime movement and polished gridiron pendulum you can be sure the Birkdale will always show the right time. This outstanding craftsman made clock with its curl-veneered crest would be treasured addition to any home.
Size: 47"x14 1/8"x8 5/8" (1200x360x230mm)

The quartz regulated Astrolabium has a month and zodiac disc together with sun, moon and earth spheres. Through the visible highly intricate gear train system, the Astrolabium clock reproduces the annual orbit of the earth around the sun, with the earth rotating on its own axis once in 24 hours and the moon revolving around the earth in 29.5 day. In the course of a year, the earth passes all twelve-zodiac signs, months and individual days, which are indicated on the brass band above the daily timepiece. Certainly the centrepiece of any home.
Size: 11"x8" (285x210mm)
